Walter Astrada, Argentinan photographer winner of the World Press Photo award 2009/2010 will present his essay «Violence against women», a story that introduces the situation of women in India, Congo and Guatemala. Cynthia Soto, photographer from Costa Rica whose work has been selected for the Photoespaña Festival and exhibited at the Art Biennial of Cuenca, will present her essay «Pictographies», photographies about latinamerican iconography. Sub.Coop will present the photo essay «Zero oxygen», a feature on the life stories of the inhabitants of the Riachuelo, the most polluted river of Buenos Aires city.

Oriana Eliçabe, argentinian photographer living in Barcelona. She works regularly with national and international media. She’ll present her essay «Voces Rebeldes» (Rebel Voices) where hip hop becomes the thread of the story of the lives of young people from different cities of the world, expressing their rage against the system trough music. Plus, Oriana will talk about the photographic magazine «Siete punto Siete», a project where she participates allong other colleagues from Barcelona. Sub.Coop will present «Paraguay, 17 veces volver» (Paraguay, to return 17 times), the story of a rural community facing the expansion of the soybean monoculture, which have caused the numerous evictions from their land.

He’ll present his latest project «Lebanon», where he captures the life of the country two years after the war. A tense calm keeps the streets on the verge of a new conflict. Religio, politics, power, economy. Everything is mixed up within the complex lebanese reality. Gisela Volà, argentinian photographer, member of Sub.Coop will present her essay «Cuba, the every-day revolution», a look on the contemporary life on the island, on the 50th anniversary of the Revolution.
