Crítica not dead

Crítica de la Argentina, a local newspaper founded on 2008 by journalist Jorge Lanata (later sold to the company Prensa 2.0 S.A., belonging to Spanish entrepreneur Carlos Mata) is no longer on the streets. After a period of crisis, with its staff not being paid and a calling to a creditor’s rehabilitation proceeding, the owners got away leaving a mess behind them. On may 2010, Crítica’s workers got inside its facilities and decided to keep their 130 job positions. They not only organized public demonstrations and assemblies but also they managed to run the newspaper for themselves, putting out on the streets a journal entirely produced by their workers.
