Cromagnon family

December 30th, Buenos Aires, the middle of the argentinian summer and that night was particularly hot during the ending of the year 2004. «Callejeros» was about to finish their series of three concerts at «Rep˙blica de CromaÒon», an old discotheque that used to be a storage of the railroad, only one block away of the central station. That night, like all the other concerts, the pub is full but people keeps on coming inside, among «pogos» and flares, trying to find a place to catch a breath. It's a small rock&roll band but even so every night the place gets crowded and everywhere they play, young people from 14 to 20 years old gather really close to the stage and keep for themselves the secret of these unknown musicians who look just like them. Anti-heroes, we're far away from the artificial MTV rock bands and from all those groups that we can find on the cover of magazines; «Callejeros» could barely afford to buy that magazine. This is rock&roll from the popular neighborhoods and it's all about keeping it simple, to validate the culture from below. Near the stage, Omar Chaban, the owner of the club tries to calm down the crowd and anticipates what is about to happen: «We're 6000 here, if anything happens, we cannot get out through this door. It's going to be a massacre.»
