Gauchito Gil

The Gauchito Gil, is a legendary character of Argentina's popular culture, known as 'el gaucho milagroso' (the miraculous gaucho). His full name was Antonio Mamerto Gil Núñez. Borned in the 1840s, he was murdered on January the 8th, 1878 . Since then, every 8 of January, thousands of devotees go to his grave in Corrientes Province to honor him.
